My name is Marc Haynes. Welcome to my blog! I've MADE IT through my FRAZZLED 40s! I am more focused in life & looking forward to my 50s. I am constantly exploring who I am and where I have come from. I hope you enjoy my journey as much as I am!
"AP Cake" A couple of years back, I had a blog project named “Cooking Through Family”. You can check out the recipes I made on the labels tab of the same name on the front of my blog page. I made about 85% of my Mom’s, Dad’s family, and Mom’s family recipes learning about my family as I went through each recipe, remembering our fun time, etc. The only ones I did not make were the baking ones which included the cakes, cookies, bars and pies. The Clutzy Baker I don't know why but I've always had an unnatural fear of baking but it always seemed so scientific. Now I am not talking about the Betty Crocker box cakes, brownie mixes, or chocolate chip cookie dough "rolls". I am talking about baking from scratch. It didn't matter the brand, just whatever was on sale or available. He had stated that he thought there was nothing beneficial to them from a nutritional standpoint and he'd rather have me drink my coffee instead. I did not completely give up my coffee bu...
After a month off, I am finally getting back to this blog, my labor of love. At the end of September, John and I went off on vacation for a week staying in cabins at various states parks of Northwestern PA. We encountered bugling elk, mischievous young deer following us, and an angry beaver which chased us out of his swamp. Luckily, we survived and had a wonderful week getting back to nature. I was back to work for 4 crazy days and then went out on surgery leave for a hernia operation on October 11 th . It was successful. As you can guess I milked my pain for everything it was worth. J John, my sister Sheryl, and good friend Sue took good care of me. The first week was a struggle as I found every movement involves your abdominal muscles which were now sporting three small incisions. Well I recovered and am now back on track with normal life. I did write a lot during the 3 weeks off, just not material that I am ready to put out yet. I will begin though, with the ...
