Top 50 Sports Movies!
"Sports Antiques from our Collection" |
A lot of you may be surprised to find this out but I like sports. After years of watching them on the couch with the Big Ragu, I have really come to enjoy watching them either on TV or live. Like the majority of folks, more than likely it's gonna be on TV. Tickets to any major sporting event are so expensive. Sure you can get nose bleed seats but you always get a better view on your couch and there's no line for food or the head. However, nothing beats the camaraderie of sporting fans up in the nose bleed sections of ANY stadium or sports arena.
You can get that live sporting-thrill by going to local little league, high school or college games without breaking the bank on tickets. There are even sporting clubs such as rugby or touch football leagues where you can see some rough action without spending a dime. Just bring your own lawn chair and favorite libation! Unfortunately due to the Novel Coronovirus, all that has changed.
Our national pastimes, depending on the season, have been put on hold. For the Spring there will be no baseball. Not to mention that the hockey and NBA finals, and college basketball Final Four are all postponed and/or canceled. The same with tennis and golf. The summer Olympics in Japan are now postponed until 2021. Football is now just a hope that will start on time in the late summer.
We are now living in a world where within less than 30 days social distancing has become the norm. We are unable to congregate in groups larger than 2, 5, or 10 depending on the state you live in. It's a new norm and we are growing used to the isolation, voluntary or not, as our country grapples with this pandemic. Who new that this would be the disaster that 2020 would be known for? And here I thought it would be known for my 50th birthday in June!
Through all the grumbles of sports reruns on the networks, there is a way to get a sports fix in while we all wait for this to subside. There are movies for every type of sport out there! Think about it.
I bet you can name 10 movies off the top of your head from the last decade alone! Well my friends in quarantine, during my isolation I have done the work for you. Here is a list of 50 sports movies which you can enjoy during your quarantine!
