"Kitchen Tools" by ME Hey Friends! I want to start sharing kitchen recipes, tricks, trades, and tidbits again. I really enjoyed doing it in the past. I of course, will always give credit to where credit is do! I found this article waaay back in my cooking files from March 2009 in the "Relish" newspaper magazine insert. It was written by Chef Jon Ashton. Their website is now the blog.relish.com . I do not own this article! BUT... I will add my favorites and two cents where I see fit! "2019, 2020, 2021" Photo by Me I still try and recycle plastic and sometimes I forget and toss something in the garbage which will take 1000 years to break down. I still try and be nice to everybody but sometimes I forget and I'm a mean son of a bitch when I'm in an "I don't give an F mood." I still try and workout each day and sometimes I am a slug and just lay there, blindly shoving ruffle BBQ potato chips into my mouth.  I still try and rise above political arguments but sometimes I get so heated I scream F you!!! And then regret it and feel kind of awful that I lowered myself.   I still try and clean dishes, wash a load of laundry, empty the garbage, and clean the litter box after work, and then I remember my Mom saying "It isn't the end of the world Marco, the dishes can wait until tomorrow." Last week, I was shopping in a consignment store and was drawn over to the tie rack. Was that it? Was that the tie? My heart felt like it stopped momentarily. It was slender, cloth, very "Mod", late 50's/early 60's. I looked at it closer and deeply sighed, "Nope, wrong color." I would have to still keep looking. After all, I've been looking for the last 3 decades. What's another year? Unfortunately, no it was not THE tie. The tie I am looking for was very special. It was my Grandpop Herman Newman's tie. I remember I came across it in a box of stuff that my Mom was giving away. I asked if I could have it because it was his and without a seconds thought she replied of course!
